A new bridge was built to connect I-80 between Crockett and Vallejo over a period of several years. The old bridge is actually two separate bridges, one for westbound traffic and the other for eastbound. The older of the two, built in the 1920's, could not be retrofitted for earthquake safety so they built a new suspension bridge to replace it. These pictures were taken in June 2002 and February 2003.
